Project Update: Katanning Early Childhood Hub

Project Update: Katanning Early Childhood Hub

Construction of the Katanning Early Childhood Hub is well underway, following commencement in July 2025, with works now progressing steadily on site.

Last week, the Minister for Early Childhood Education, the Minister for Regional Development, and the local Member for Roe visited the site, acknowledging the importance of this project for families across the Great Southern. Their visit reflects strong State Government and community support for a facility that will bring early learning, family services, and community programs together in one accessible location.

Designed by Slavin Architects for the Shire of Katanning, the Hub has been carefully planned to create a calm, inclusive environment for children and families. Key design priorities include:

  • Durable, low-maintenance, child-centred spaces
  • Clear, safe circulation between indoor and outdoor learning areas
  • Flexible rooms that can adapt to future community needs
  • A long-life, low-energy approach suited to the regional climate

The project continues to progress toward its scheduled completion in 2026.
