Willagee Library Upgrade

The Willagee Library Upgrade refurbished an existing community library to improve accessibility, amenity and functionality for staff and visitors.

The project included upgraded amenities, new furniture and joinery, improved staff facilities, a music room, flexible multipurpose spaces and replacement of the ageing mechanical services. Working within the constraints of the existing building footprint and low ceiling heights, the design focused on making better use of the available space while maintaining the library’s day-to-day operation and community role.

A key aspect of the project was improving accessibility within the split-level building. New custom joinery was designed to integrate a compliant access ramp, providing universal access while also improving storage and display opportunities throughout the library.
